Daniel Pinho

Hi, I’m Daniel!

Welcome to my website. I hope what you find here is useful.

I’m a PhD student and researcher working in Porto, Portugal. I am fascinated by the human side of software engineering, considering the different factors that existing within a developer’s environment (physical, mental, and digital), how the different interactions one has with their co-workers shape their day, and how we can all improve. More specifically, my research interests dive into the realms of agile software development, developer experience, and also a bit regarding usability and design.

My PhD research involves documenting a pattern language that aims to improve the developer experience one faces in their work, covering the whole gamut of factors from the more utilitarian ones (which tools are we using?) to the more personal, introspective ones (what motivates us?), and I hope the end result ends up being useful to you all.

This website serves as my professional portfolio: you can find my CV, my list of publications, and (once it’s ready to be shared) my pattern repository. You can find these items on the top of the page, along with my contact info.

Thanks for visitng my website! Feel free to get in touch.
